Edward Reichert is a Lecturer in Musical Theatre and Faculty/Musical Theater Vocal Coach at the Osher School of Music, University of Southern Maine since 2001. He holds a B.M. from the Aaron Copland School of Music/CUNY, where he trained under composer/conductor Hugo Weisgall. His career spans NYC Off-Broadway productions, college theatre programs, and collaborations with renowned artists like TONY Award winner Maury Yeston.

His expertise includes vocal coaching, stage directing, and musical direction for operas, musicals, and cabaret performances. Notable achievements include conducting Evita with the Portland Symphony Orchestra, producing the Portland Museum of Art’s Songbook Series, and directing productions like The Wild Party and Urinetown at USM.
Ed has collaborated with institutions such as Maine State Music Theatre, Walnut Street Theatre, and Florida Repertory Theatre. He is also a member of Actors’ Equity Association and has performed onstage in roles like “Manny” in Master Class.
Ed takes pride in mentoring students, many of whom have achieved success in the performing arts. His teaching roles extend to guest instructorships at the University of New Hampshire, St. Joseph’s College, and Sacramento State University.
