Jessica Modaff is an Assistant Professor of Music at Gordon College’s Adams School of Music and the Arts. She holds a B.M. from Wheaton College (IL), M.M. and D.M.A. in collaborative piano from Boston University. Her expertise spans collaborative piano, music theory, vocal/instrumental coaching, and theatre music direction. Dr. Modaff teaches music theory, vocal diction, art song literature, and aural skills at Gordon.

Her research examines sociological contexts of women’s issues in art song texts and gender roles in 20th-century American composers. She specializes in multi-genre performance, transcription, and arranging, with a YouTube channel featuring theatre piano accompaniments used globally. As a performer, she collaborates with Gordon’s Theatre Arts and Chapel Office, directing productions like Godspell and Urinetown.
Prior roles include church music leadership at Anchor Bay Church and Highrock network, and teaching at the Children’s Music Center and Wheaton Yamaha Music School. Her performance venues include Boston Symphony Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, and international stages.
