Sue Gaukel

Ms. Sue Gaukel is an Associate Professor of Musical Theatre at Shorter University in Rome, GA. With over 15 years of experience as a professional performer, teacher, director, and vocal/theatre coach, she has performed in major cities such as New York City, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, and Tacoma.

• Education: BS in Music Education from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, MFA in Musical Theatre Performance from Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music

Her research and professional interests span Musical Theatre Performance, Vocal Coaching, and Theatre Education, informed by her extensive stage experience in roles like Roxanne in Cyrano the Musical and Eva Perón in Evita. She has trained with renowned professionals including Sara Louise Lazarus and Paul Gemignani.

Before relocating to Georgia, Susan taught, coached, and directed young adults in the Tacoma/Seattle area for 8 years. She also writes and performs cabarets in Cincinnati and the Seattle area.
