معرفی
Ryan Broxterman is a Research Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine and Adjunct Assistant Professor in Nutrition & Integrative Physiology at the University of Utah. He focuses on medical physiology with an emphasis on cardiovascular and exercise-related mechanisms, including vascular function, skeletal muscle adaptation, and mitochondrial biology. His work explores how aging, disease (e.g., heart failure, breast cancer), and interventions (e.g., exercise, supplementation) influence physiological outcomes. He teaches doctoral and master’s level research courses, supervising students in their thesis and dissertation work. Notable research includes studies on mitochondrial respiration during immobilization, hemodynamic responses in cardiac patients, and the role of adrenergic signaling in vascular regulation.
Research interests span vascular physiology, muscle metabolism, and the intersection of exercise science with clinical medicine. His recent publications address topics such as Nrf2 activation in muscle preservation, adrenergic regulation in heart failure patients, and the effects of chemotherapy on exercise physiology. He collaborates across departments to advance translational research in cardiovascular and metabolic health.
