Roxy Walsh

Roxy Walsh is a Senior Lecturer in Fine Art Practice (Studio Practice) at Goldsmiths, University of London, affiliated with the Department of Art. Her work bridges painting and writing, evolving from figurative and abstract practices into autofiction and ekphrasis. She has been a studio tutor since 2008 and co-programme leader for Fine Art since 2021. Her research explores materiality in art, visuality in writing, and collaborative projects like Dependent Rational Animals with sculptor Sally Underwood.

Key exhibitions include Ash, Beech, Coll (2024), Fuzzy Objects: Amitié (2020), and solo shows such as The Lady Watercolourist (2012). Publications span books like Infallible (2005), edited catalogues, and articles on art and text. She served as an external examiner for the Royal College of Art’s MA Painting program.

Her teaching focuses on interdisciplinary practices, supervising two completed PhDs. Collaborative projects like Annunciation (2014) and Outwith (2015) highlight her engagement with spatial and conceptual art forms. Walsh’s work consistently navigates the intersection of visual and literary mediums.
