Rossella Ghigi is an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Bologna, affiliated with the Department of Education Studies 'Giovanni Maria Bertin'. She holds an Italian National Scientific Qualification for Full Professorship (14/C1 – General Sociology). As Deputy Coordinator of the Bachelor's degree in Social and Cultural Education, she leads the Centre for Gender and Education Studies (CSGE). Her academic background includes a PhD in Sociology and Social Research from the University of Trento, a DEA in History and Civilizations from EHESS Paris, and a Political Science degree from the University of Milan.

Research Interests: Focus on gender role socialization, body modification, feminist theory, reproductive rights, intersectional inequalities, and neoliberal feminism. Her work intersects media, medicine, and science studies, with a particular emphasis on family dynamics and educational equity.
