Rose Adams is a part-time faculty member at NSCAD University, Port Campus. She holds degrees including a B.A. Honours Equivalency from Acadia University, BFA and M.F.A. from NSCAD University, and an M.A. from Carleton University, alongside a medical degree from Dalhousie University.
Her research integrates visual art with personal and historical narratives. Notable projects include a memorial ash painting for her father, displayed alongside military artifacts, and a poetry manuscript in preparation. She has engaged in interdisciplinary collaborations, including residencies at the Memory Disability Clinic at QEII Hospital, working with neurosurgeon Dr. Ivar Mendez, and at The Museum of the History of Science in Florence, Italy.
Rose’s work is featured in major collections such as the Canada Council Art Bank and the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. Her 25-year mid-career retrospective exhibition Birds, Bones and Brains (2014) highlighted her exploration of trauma, memory, and anatomy through mixed-media installations.
- Awards: Royal Canadian Academy of Arts induction (2006), Nova Scotia Established Artists Recognition Award (2010), and multiple Canada/Provincial Arts Council grants.

Her current focus includes writing poetry and expanding her practice at the intersection of art and medical humanities.
