Rosa Greaves is a Professor of European Commercial Law at the University of Glasgow and Professor Emeritus at the University of Oslo. She holds the position of International Dean for Latin America at Glasgow and is a Visiting Professor at the Catholic University of Lisbon. Her career includes deanship roles at Glasgow (2009–2013) and Durham (1995–1998).
Education includes a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Leeds (1973) and an LLM in European Legal Studies from the University of Exeter (1974), followed by qualification as a Barrister at the Inner Temple (1975).
Her research focuses on EU competition law, maritime law, and internal market regulations. She has authored seminal works like *EC Transport Law* (2000) and co-edited *The Advocate General and EC Law* (2007). Her work frequently addresses the interplay between EU legal frameworks and maritime transport, competition policy, and institutional governance.
Greaves has delivered prestigious lectures, including the 18th Gabriele Ganz Annual Lecture (2013) and the Herschel Smith Lecture (1998). Awards include the *Doctores Juris Honoris Causa* from the University of Oslo (2000) and membership in the Academia Europaea (2015).
She has supervised 22 doctoral candidates and currently co-supervises 8 PhD students. Her grants include a £5,000 MLR Scholarship (2012). Professional activities include judging moot court competitions and training judges across Europe.
