Ronald Miletich is a Professor at the Faculty of Earth Sciences, Geography and Astronomy, affiliated with the Department of Mineralogy and Crystallography. His research focuses on crystallography and mineralogy under extreme conditions, particularly high-pressure structural transformations in carbonate minerals.
Recent publications highlight his work on the structural stability of potassium-bearing carbonates, including K2Ca(CO3)2 and K2Ca2(CO3)3, under compression. Key themes include equations of state, compressibility, and phase transitions in Earth's mantle analogues.
Current projects include Dense Potassium-Bearing Carbonates (2021-2025), exploring high-pressure mineral physics. Collaborations span geochemistry, crystallography, and materials science, with frequent presentations at international conferences on stability mechanisms and host-guest framework compounds.
