معرفی
Stephan Klemme is a Professor at the Institute for Mineralogy within the Faculty of Geosciences at the University of Münster. His research focuses on experimental petrology and geochemistry, with particular emphasis on igneous processes on Earth and terrestrial planets. He leads a research group conducting high-pressure, high-temperature experiments to simulate rock formation processes in planetary interiors.

Dr. Klemme's research interests center around advancing our understanding of igneous processes through experimental simulation. His laboratory houses sophisticated equipment including piston-cylinder apparatus (up to 4 GPa, 1800°C), a 1000t multi-anvil apparatus (up to 20 GPa, >2000°C), gas-mixing furnaces, and hydrothermal apparatus. His work spans multiple domains including phase relations in Earth's upper mantle, thermodynamic modeling of mantle compositions, redox effects on partial melting, subduction zone processes, ore genesis, and experimental planetary science including core formation simulations.
His recent publications (2021-2025) demonstrate a strong focus on both terrestrial and planetary systems, with particular attention to volatile elements, trace element partitioning, and the behavior of metals under extreme conditions. The research shows increasing integration of advanced analytical techniques like in situ X-ray absorption spectroscopy and laser ablation ICP-MS, reflecting methodological evolution in the field.
Dr. Klemme has secured numerous research projects, primarily funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and European Union programs, indicating strong recognition of his research program. His work spans fundamental mineral physics to applied ore deposit formation studies.
His teaching portfolio includes courses in crystallography, igneous petrology, mineralogy, and field trips to locations including Scotland, Cyprus, and the Azores. He has taught continuously since 2005, with German-language courses since 2008.
