معرفی
Marcello Merli is an Associate Professor in the Department of Earth and Marine Sciences at the University of Palermo, School of Basic and Applied Sciences. His academic role is explicitly tied to mineralogy and geochemistry teaching, with documented office hours at the DISTEM Department.
His research focuses on mineralogy and geochemistry, spanning high-pressure mineral physics, computational modeling of Earth's mantle, phase transitions in silicates, and environmental geochemical applications. He employs theoretical and experimental methods to study lithium isotope fractionation, trace element behavior in evaporites, and clay mineral interactions with pharmaceutical compounds.
His publications highlight expertise in ab initio simulations, Bader analysis, and catastrophe theory for predicting mineral stability fields and structural changes under extreme conditions.
