معرفی
Fabrizio Nestola is a Full Professor in Mineralogy at the Department of Geosciences, University of Padova, Italy, elected to the Academy of Europe in 2024. His research focuses on high-pressure mineralogy, diamond inclusions, and deep-earth processes, with significant contributions to understanding natural diamonds, meteorites, and mantle dynamics.
- Education: Master’s in Geological Sciences (University of Torino, 1999); Ph.D. in Mineralogy (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, 2003).
Research Interests: Nestola specializes in experimental and analytical studies of diamonds and meteorites to unravel Earth's deep geological processes. His work bridges mineralogy, geochemistry, and planetary science, particularly investigating diamond formation mechanisms, mantle composition, and impact-induced mineral transformations.
Publication Trends: His recent articles (2019–2023) emphasize superdeep diamonds as probes of mantle conditions, high-pressure mineral phases, and shock metamorphism in meteorites. Collaborative studies with institutions like Virginia Tech and Bayerisches Geoinstitut highlight multidisciplinary approaches.
- Scientific Awards: Dana Medal (2024), Humboldt Research Award (2019), European Mineralogical Union Medal (2010), and others.
Academic Leadership: He coordinated the Ph.D. in Earth Sciences (2015–2018), served as Head of Department of Geosciences (2018–2022), and currently leads the University Center for the Museums (2023–2025). As Associate Editor for American Mineralogist and European Journal of Mineralogy, he contributes to scholarly discourse.
