Ron Longsdorf is a Professor of Foundation Studies at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), Savannah, GA since 2016. He holds an M.F.A. in Fine Arts/Sculpture from the University of Delaware and a B.F.A. in Art from Penn State University. His career spans academic roles, curatorial work, and public art projects.
Research interests focus on sculpture, installation art, and curatorial practices. Notable exhibitions include A Sense of Home (2018), Fabricated Environments (2017), and Domestic Artifacts (2010). His work explores themes of identity, public space, and material innovation.
Honors include the Established Individual Artist Fellowship (2009), Individual Artist Opportunity Grants (2010, 2008), and a Higher Education Teaching Certification (2007). He has curated over 15 exhibitions, emphasizing community engagement and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Prior roles include visiting professorships at Kutztown University and Moravian College, adjunct teaching at the University of Delaware, and curatorships at institutions like the New Wilmington Art Association. He has also held roles in art administration, including exhibition coordination and security management.
