Ron Coffen

Dr. Ron Coffen is a Professor of Counseling Psychology at the School of Education, Andrews University, where he also serves as Director of the Andrews Community Counseling Center. His research focuses on children and adolescents, including distress tolerance, resilience, therapy outcome research, and the impact of record-keeping on mental health treatment.

• Education: PhD and MA in Counseling Psychology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, BS from Andrews University

Dr. Coffen’s recent publications explore emotionally based behavior problems, standardized test administration innovations, and multicultural education strategies. His work spans clinical psychology, educational research, and faith-based counseling, with a focus on practical applications for therapists and educators.

As Director of the Andrews Community Counseling Center, he integrates therapy-related research with community service, while maintaining a private practice for child and adolescent psychotherapy in Buchanan, MI.
