Dr. Roger Moore is a Senior Lecturer and current Associate Head (Students) at the School of Psychology, Sport and Health Sciences, University of Portsmouth. He completed his Psychology Degree (1997), PGDip in Psychological Research Methods, and PhD (2003) at Portsmouth, followed by a PGCert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. He has held roles as an Experimental Officer (2001-2004), Academic Skills Tutor (2005), Research Fellow (2006), and Senior Lecturer (2010-2014) before becoming Principal Lecturer (not in valid rank list), which is mapped to Senior Lecturer per guidelines.

His research focuses on using EEG to identify biomarkers linking brainwave activity to anxious rumination, goal conflict resolution, and Reinforcement Sensitivity Theory. He collaborates with Thomas Lockhart and others on neural oscillations and personality variables.
Recent articles emphasize psychophysiological analysis of anxiety, goal conflict, and cognitive biomarkers, with trends spanning EEG power/coherence dynamics, mental health interventions, and personality-neurophysiology interactions. He supervises undergraduate, MSc, and PhD students, including Ben Stocker and Thanusha V Manohor.
