Dr. Robyn R. Wilborn is a Professor of Theriogenology in the Department of Clinical Sciences at Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine. She serves as co-director of the Equine Reproduction Center within the JT Vaughan Large Animal Teaching Hospital. Originally from Elba, Alabama, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science (1998) and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (2002) from Auburn University.
After three years in mixed animal practice in Wichita, Kansas, she returned to Auburn in 2005 and completed a theriogenology residency in 2008. Her clinical expertise spans reproduction in cattle, camelids, sheep, goats, horses, and dogs.
Dr. Wilborn's research focuses on reproductive cycle control in mares, particularly ovulation induction and management of anestrous/transition phases. She investigates kisspeptin's role in regulating equine reproduction and develops novel estrus suppression methods. Her work aims to improve breeding consistency through advanced hormonal manipulation techniques.
