Dr. Stephen Manning is an Associate Professor in the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences and Associate Dean of Clinical Programs at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM), University of Saskatchewan. He oversees clinical operations at the WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre and manages senior clinical rotations for DVM students. His roles include field service expertise and board certification in theriogenology (reproduction). He earned his DVM from the Ontario Veterinary College (1991), followed by an MSc and theriogenology residency at WCVM. He became an American College of Theriogenologists Diplomate in 1997 and completed veterinary acupuncture certification in 2008.
Research focuses on equine acupuncture and advanced reproductive techniques for mares/stallions, including subfertility and infertility solutions. His work integrates clinical practice with diagnostic innovations, such as ovarian biopsy safety evaluations and antimicrobial efficacy in equine asthma cases. He contributes to peer-reviewed journals on equine health challenges like colic and uterine complications.
Dr. Manning’s academic credentials include multiple board certifications and memberships in veterinary organizations. His professional activities span teaching, clinical leadership, and advancing equine reproductive and respiratory medicine through evidence-based practices.
