Dr. Robyn L. Brouer is the Ben May Endowed Professor of Management at the University of South Alabama's Mitchell College of Business. She is actively engaged in research and teaching, with a focus on leadership, social influence, and workplace dynamics.
Education:
- PhD in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management, Florida State University
- MS in Human Resource Management and Change Management, University of Central Florida
- BA in Sociology, University of Georgia
- BS in Psychology, University of Georgia
Research Interests: Dr. Brouer's work explores individual differences, leadership, social influence, and person-environment fit. Current projects include artificial intelligence in employee selection, the impact of mega threats on worker well-being, and the role of the impostor phenomenon and psychological entitlement in workplace behavior.
Scientific Awards:
- Best Paper Award, Journal of Management
Editorial and Professional Roles: She serves on the editorial board of Academy of Management Perspectives and co-edits a special issue of the Journal of Management Scientific Reports. Additionally, she recently completed a three-year term on the Southern Management Association Board and will co-chair a paper track for the 2025 conference.
Consulting and Teaching: Dr. Brouer consults with companies on strategy, employee well-being, leadership, and sexual harassment. She teaches courses such as BUS 700: Research Fundamentals Doctoral Seminar, MGT 705: Leadership Doctoral Seminar, MGT 505: Managing People, and MGT 351: Human Resource Management.
