Robert H. Smith is a Research Professor at Suffolk University's Law School and Dean Emeritus since 2020. He served as Dean of the Law School from 1999 to 2007 and previously held positions as Professor of Law at Suffolk and Boston College Law School, as well as a Supervising Attorney at the University of Chicago Law School. His academic work includes teaching in the Marshall-Brennan Program, where he prepares law students to teach Constitutional Law to Boston high school students and organizes a Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition.
- Education: BA from Wesleyan University, JD from the University of Chicago
His research and practice focus on:
- Constitutional Law and its pedagogy in secondary and higher education
- Conflict Resolution through negotiation and mediation
- Interdisciplinary legal scholarship and legal practice in moot court frameworks
