René Reyes is a Professor of Law at Suffolk University, specializing in U.S. and Comparative Constitutional Law, Critical Race Theory, Abolition, and Law & Religion. He previously served as a Climenko Fellow and Lecturer on Law at Harvard and practiced litigation at Goodwin Procter LLP and as Assistant Attorney General for Massachusetts. He holds a J.D. and A.B. from Harvard.
Research Interests: His scholarship explores intersections of constitutional law with racial justice, abolitionist frameworks, and religious liberty, often employing comparative analysis between U.S. and international legal systems. He emphasizes critical and anti-racist pedagogies to amplify marginalized voices in legal discourse.
Teaching: Courses include Constitutional Law, Race, Equal Protection & Due Process, Critical Race Theory, and Criminal Procedure.
