Dr. Robert Allen King is an Assistant Professor of Marketing, Director of Graduate Business Programs, and Wilder Professor of Business at the Paul & Virginia Engler College of Business, West Texas A&M University. He holds degrees from the same institution (B.B.A. in Marketing, M.B.A. with a Marketing Emphasis, M.S. in Finance and Economics) and earned his Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). His research focuses on consumer ethics, corporate social responsibility (CSR), nonprofit marketing, and organizational behavior. He has been recognized with the 2019 Teaching Excellence Award.
Key research interests include the intersection of spirituality, moral identity, and consumer ethics, as well as the role of online word-of-mouth (eWOM) in marketing strategies. His work explores topics like supervisor-induced stressors, narcissism and Machiavellianism in workplace dynamics, and team-based selling strategies. Dr. King’s publications span journals in marketing, organizational behavior, and consumer psychology.
Publications highlight themes such as trust damage in nonprofit contexts, the impact of religiosity on retail choices, and the evolution of eWOM research. His teaching philosophy emphasizes engaging students through innovative methods, as reflected in his award-winning classroom approach. Beyond academia, Dr. King leads study abroad programs, enjoys travel, and is known for his unique style, including fondness for expressive clothing accessories.
