Rick Good

Rick Good is a Professor and Director of Bands at Auburn University's College of Liberal Arts, Department of Music, where he has served since 1995. He was promoted from Marching Band Director and Associate Professor of Low Brass to Associate Professor of Conducting in 2007, overseeing the growth of the Auburn University Marching Band from 275 to 375 members—the largest in the institution's history.

Under his leadership, the marching band received national recognition, including the prestigious Sudler Trophy (2004), selection for George W. Bush's inaugural parade (2005), and inclusion in the LSU Hall of Fame Museum's "America's Finest University Marching Bands" exhibit (2006). He also conducts the top-tier Symphonic Band and select Wind Ensemble, while teaching conducting and wind literature courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

His honors include:

• Executive Musical Director of Alabama Ambassadors of Music European Tour (2003)
• College of Liberal Arts Teaching Effectiveness Award in Fine Arts
• Cardinal Key Honor Society Faculty Honoree

As an active adjudicator and freelance musician, he collaborates internationally across the United States, Mexico, Caribbean, and Europe. He currently serves on the National Band Association's Board of Directors as marching band executive chairman.
