Richelle Allen is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Real Estate Development at Tulane University’s School of Architecture and serves as Vice President of Corporate Finance & Asset Management at HRI Hospitality. She combines academic instruction with over a decade of professional experience leading large-scale real estate development projects across hospitality, multifamily housing, mixed-use, and affordable housing sectors. Her career has focused on post-disaster recovery (e.g., post-Hurricane Katrina rebuilding) and sustainable development advocacy.
Education: She holds a Master of Finance (2007) and a Bachelor of Science in Management (2006), both from Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business.
Research & Advocacy: Her work emphasizes institutional real estate finance, tax credit utilization (federal/state), and policy advocacy for affordable housing, historic preservation, and walkable communities. She actively engages with organizations like the Urban Land Institute (ULI), LOCUS (Smart Growth America), and the Louisiana Workforce Housing Coalition.
Professional Experience: Post-HRI roles included leadership at Stonehenge Capital (tax credit syndication) before returning to HRI in 2023. Notable projects include the Hibernia Tower (New Orleans), The Mayflower (Dallas), and dual-branded Hyatt properties (Indianapolis).
