Richard D. Adams is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of South Carolina's College of Arts and Sciences. His research focuses on the organometallic chemistry of polynuclear complexes for catalytic applications in energy conversion of fossil fuels and selective oxidation of hydrocarbons to produce higher-value organic compounds.
Professor Adams has received significant recognition in his field, including:
- ACS Florida Award (2016) for his contributions to inorganic chemistry
- ACS Award for Distinguished Service in the Advancement of Inorganic Chemistry (2010)
He has delivered keynote lectures at international conferences, including the 5th Asian Conference on Coordination Chemistry in July 2015, and maintains an active research group investigating organometallic catalysis mechanisms.
