Rhonson Salim is a Senior Lecturer at Aston Law School, part of the College of Business and Social Sciences at Aston University. He also holds an Adjunct Professorship at FernUniversität in Hagen, Germany, and a Research Fellowship at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL). His primary research focuses on collective redress, private international law, and international commercial arbitration, with a special emphasis on the English-speaking Caribbean and small states' legal frameworks.
Salim's work spans regional integration, dispute resolution mechanisms in small states, and post-Brexit legal challenges. He has collaborated with institutions like the EU Commission, GIZ, and OHADAC on projects addressing legal harmonization and policy development. His research has been supported by grants from the ESRC and EU Commission.
In teaching, he instructs undergraduate modules on Dispute Resolution and postgraduate courses on International Commercial Dispute Resolution and Business Project/Dissertation. He actively contributes to academic conferences and expert panels, bridging theoretical and applied legal scholarship.
Salim's external roles include advisory work with the EU Commission, GIZ, and BIICL, where he engages in collective redress initiatives and alternative dispute resolution projects.
