Professor Richard Fentiman is the Professor of Private International Law at the University of Cambridge and Arthur Armitage Fellow in Law at Queens' College. He chairs the Faculty of Law and holds honorary doctorates from Universities of Athens and Cyprus. His research focuses on jurisdictional frameworks in civil/commercial litigation, cross-border injunctions, and legal risk analysis in transnational disputes. He has authored seminal works like International Commercial Litigation and Foreign Law in English Courts, frequently cited in landmark cases globally.
Teaching contributions include leading the International Commercial Litigation course since 1993, winning the 2014 Pilkington Teaching Prize. He advises governments and international bodies on law reform, particularly post-Brexit litigation frameworks.
