Dr Mukarrum Ahmed is a Lecturer in Business Law at the School of Law, University of Lancaster, and a barrister of Lincoln's Inn. He is a recognized expert in private international law and commercial law, with significant contributions cited by courts including the High Court of England and Wales and the European Court of Justice.

Dr Ahmed's research focuses on private international law (conflict of laws), with particular emphasis on international commercial litigation and arbitration.
