Dr. Rhina Fernandes Williams is a Clinical Professor in Early Childhood and Elementary Education at Georgia State University's College of Education & Human Development. She holds a PhD in Educational Studies from Emory University (2005), MEd in Early Childhood Education from Mercer University, and BA in Psychology from Agnes Scott College.
Her scholarship centers on critical pedagogy, teacher development, and social justice education. Research examines multicultural education frameworks, biracial student experiences, and transformative teaching practices. She coordinates graduate programs and develops courses focused on equity in education.
Publications analyze racial dynamics in schooling, service-learning methodologies, and teacher preparation for diverse classrooms. Her work informs educator training through the CREATE Project and collaborations with the Alonzo A. Crim Center for Urban Educational Excellence.
