Dr. Rhian Hedd Meara is a Senior Lecturer in Geography at Swansea University, serving as the Welsh Language Lead for the Faculty of Science and Engineering and Head of Admissions for the Geography Department. She holds a PhD in Geochemistry from the University of Edinburgh and specializes in socio-historical volcanology, particularly focusing on Icelandic eruptions and their societal impacts. Her research includes the Magmatic Memories: Eldfell, 1973 project analyzing the 1973 Heimaey eruption's legacy.
