Dr. Rebecca Reeve is a part-time Senior Research Fellow at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), focusing on applied economics, health economics, and public policy. She leads Yuwaya Ngarra-li, a partnership between the Dharriwaa Elders Group and UNSW, aiming to improve Aboriginal wellbeing through environmental and social interventions in Walgett. She also works with the CFRC at UNSW on housing assistance for ex-prisoners and cost-effectiveness analyses. Her research spans criminal justice, Indigenous development, healthcare economics, and policy evaluation.
Reeve holds a PhD from Macquarie University (2010) and a Master’s (2004) on poverty and population dynamics. Her work emphasizes holistic policy approaches to address systemic disadvantages, particularly for Indigenous populations and marginalized groups. Notable projects include evaluating public housing impacts on sex offenders, analyzing financial resilience frameworks, and assessing speech therapy’s role in reducing criminal justice costs.
Her publications span over 40 peer-reviewed articles, reports, and media contributions, addressing topics like healthcare costs at end-of-life, child abuse long-term impacts, and nurse-led care models. She collaborates widely with government agencies and non-profits, contributing evidence-based insights to improve social equity and public health outcomes.
