Rebecca Louison is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Mount Mercy University, where she holds a full-time teaching position. Her academic journey includes earning a BS (2015), MA in Marriage and Family Therapy (2019), and PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy (2023), all from Mount Mercy. She specializes in clinical psychology with a focus on neurofeedback, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), and neurodivergence. Her research includes a dissertation titled Neurofeedback in the Treatment of Body Dysmorphic Disorder: A Pilot Study, and she has published on interventions for Multiple Sclerosis, cancer patients, and neurodivergent populations.
Her clinical interests span neurofeedback therapy, play therapy (including Aut-Play certification), and autism spectrum disorder. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and actively participates in conferences such as the Midwestern Psychological Association and Iowa Psychological Association. Rebecca has been deeply involved with Mount Mercy for over a decade, contributing to both academic and clinical initiatives.
