Andrew Beer

Andrew Beer is an Adjunct Professor at Mount Mercy University's Department of Marriage and Family Therapy. He holds a PhD from the University of Iowa, an MA and BA in Psychology from Mount Mercy University. His research focuses on play therapy, LGBTQ+ mental health, and family-based interventions. Beer is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Iowa and serves on the Iowa Board for Play Therapy. He has professional experience as a therapist and supervisor at Tanager Place and Ascent Therapy Group. His work emphasizes cultural competencies in therapy and advocacy for military-connected children and LGBTQ+ communities.
