Raymond S. Tu is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the City College of New York (CCNY). His research focuses on biomolecules, self-assembly, and semiconductor interfaces, with applications in nanotechnology and electronic devices. He is based in Steinman Hall, Office T313, and can be contacted at tu@ccny.cuny.edu.
- Expertise: Semiconductor Interface Engineering, Schottky Barrier Physics, Self-Assembled Nanostructures
- Key research themes: Electronic transport at interfaces, band alignment, molecular control of device properties
Recent publications address fundamental challenges in Schottky barrier formation, including band alignment at polycrystalline interfaces and Fermi level pinning mechanisms. His work combines experimental and theoretical approaches to engineer semiconductor/metal junctions for nanoelectronics and quantum devices.
Professor Tu has contributed extensively to understanding interface-mediated silicide formation, charge density effects on band offsets, and surface potential modulation via molecular engineering. His research informs next-generation transistor design and semiconductor device optimization.
