Previously, he spent 18 years at ARCO's Plano Research Center and 5 years with ARCO Alaska and BP/Alaska, focusing on petrophysical research for Alaskan North Slope reservoirs. He retired from industry in 2002 but continues as a contract petrophysicist.
Education: B.S. in physics and M.S. in geology from Kansas State University, and a Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Arizona. His academic focus was on petrology, geochemistry, and physical chemistry. Before industry, he was an Assistant Professor of Geology at Northern Arizona University (1970–1979).
Research Expertise: Specializes in creating core-calibrated interpretation models for well logs, integrating geological and geophysical data for reservoir analysis. His work bridges academic research and industrial applications in petroleum exploration.
