Ratib Mortuza Ali is a Lecturer in the Department of Economics at Tufts University, affiliated with the School of Arts and Sciences. He holds a PhD in Economics from Boston College, with a research focus on how government regulation shapes firm incentives, particularly in antitrust policy and FAA regulations affecting airline operations. His work has been supported by a grant from the Washington Center for Equitable Growth.
Previously, Ali worked as an economist at Competition Dynamics, The Brattle Group, and the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, Antitrust Division. He has taught at Emerson College and Boston College, where he earned the Donald White Teaching Award. His expertise bridges academic research and practical policy analysis, emphasizing the intersection of regulation and market behavior.
