Lynne Pepall is a Professor of Economics at Tufts University and currently chairs the Department of Community Health. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Cambridge and an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Economics from Trinity College, University of Toronto. Her research focuses on microeconomics, industrial organization, and the economics of advertising, with contributions to leading journals such as The Journal of Finance and American Journal of Agricultural Economics. She co-authored a seminal textbook Industrial Organization: Contemporary Theory and Empirical Applications and is completing a book on advertising from an economics perspective.
Previously, she served as Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Tufts (2007–2013) and as a Visiting Economist in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division (2013–2014). Her work bridges theoretical economics with policy applications, particularly in market regulation and health economics.
