Raquel Guarino

Raquel Guarino is a full-time faculty member at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, affiliated with the College of Health Sciences. She holds academic roles in the Occupational Therapy (OT) Programs, specializing in clinical education and orthopedic course components of the Doctor of Occupational Therapy program. Her career includes over a decade of clinical experience in hand therapy, pediatric sensory integration, neuro-rehabilitation, and laser treatments.

• Education: Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (Quinnipiac University, 2010); Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences (Quinnipiac University, 2008).

Her research interests focus on complementary medicine, holistic treatment methods for pain management, and women’s health. She has presented at local universities on orthopedic content and orthotic fabrication. Guarino also runs a small business developing graded exercise kits for patients with upper extremity strength deficits.

Certifications include Certified Hand Therapist (CHT), Occupational Therapist Registered/Licensed (OTR/L), and expertise in Graston Technique and kinesio-taping. She transitioned to full-time faculty in 2022 after contributing part-time since 2016.
