Valerie Faul

Valerie Faul serves as an Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and Instructor in the Occupational Therapy (OT) Programs at the College of Rehabilitative Sciences, University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. She holds a Master of Occupational Therapy (2005) from the same institution and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with a specialization in Exercise Science from Carson Newman College.

Her expertise spans adult rehabilitation, geriatrics, and orthopedics. She specializes in upper extremity (UE) dysfunction, trauma management, custom orthotics fabrication, and collaborating with orthopedic surgeons. Her research focuses on aging in place, light wellness's impact on circadian rhythms, and holistic patient care approaches.

As an academic leader, Faul emphasizes adapting environments and tasks to meet patient needs using evidence-based practices. She mentors future occupational therapists through fieldwork coordination, aiming to equip them with high-quality clinical skills. Her clinical experience includes outpatient care, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient rehab, home health, and assisted/independent living facilities, with additional pediatric experience.
