Kimberly Shurtleff

Kimberly Shurtleff, MS, OTR/L, BCPR, CHT, serves as the Assistant Academic Fieldwork Coordinator at the School of Occupational Therapy, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS), Manchester campus. She joined the university in 2018 as an adjunct instructor and continues to contribute to student mentorship and fieldwork coordination.

Shurtleff’s research focuses on service learning in OT education, fieldwork practice models, and mindfulness-based interventions in hand therapy. Her work emphasizes occupation-based rehabilitation for upper extremity injuries and community partnerships in clinical training. Recent publications highlight trauma recovery approaches and innovative mental health fieldwork programs.

She has received the 2022 Presidents’ Community Partnership Award from Campus Compact for collaborative community initiatives. As a certified hand therapist (CHT) and board-certified physical rehabilitation specialist (BCPR), she integrates over 20 years of clinical experience into her teaching, spanning acute rehabilitation, ergonomic consulting, and upper extremity treatment.
