Randy Rogers is an Associate Professor of New Testament and Greek Studies at the Logsdon School of Theology within Hardin-Simmons University’s Cynthia Ann Parker College of Liberal Arts. He joined the faculty in Fall 2024 with a career spanning academia, pastoral ministry, and missions. Dr. Rogers holds a BA (1990) and MA (1995) from Hardin-Simmons University, an MDiv with Biblical Languages (1995), and a PhD in Biblical Studies and Missions (2002), both from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
His research and teaching focus on New Testament exegesis, Greek language, and practical theology. He balances academic rigor with pastoral engagement, having served churches in Texas and internationally through Wayland Baptist University. Notable certifications include membership in the Society of Biblical Literature and certification as an Intentional Interim Pastor with the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
Dr. Rogers has received multiple accolades, including the 2019-20 Faculty University Service Award for contributions to faculty committees and virtual education initiatives, and the Outstanding Faculty Award (2017-2021), voted by Wayland Baptist University students. His ministry includes interim pastoral roles at numerous churches and lay training programs in biblical interpretation and worship leadership.
Though no formal grants or labs are highlighted, his work emphasizes community engagement and theological education. A lighthearted note hints at his fondness for Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and iced tea.
