Ramona Rhodes

Ramona Rhodes, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, specializing in geriatrics, hospice, and palliative medicine. She joined the faculty in 2009 and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in these areas. Dr. Rhodes holds a medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, with residencies in internal medicine at MetroHealth Medical Center and Case Western Reserve University. She completed a geriatric medicine fellowship at Rhode Island Hospital and a health services research fellowship at Brown University, where she also earned a master’s in public health. Additionally, she holds a master’s in clinical science from UT Southwestern.

Her research focuses on end-of-life care disparities, hospice access, and decision-making in advanced dementia. She has published extensively on these topics and delivered numerous lectures nationally and regionally. Dr. Rhodes mentors residents, fellows, medical students, faculty, and Ph.D. candidates in research.
