Kelley Finch Newcomer, M.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of General Internal Medicine in the Palliative Medicine Section.
Dr. Newcomer earned her bachelor's degree in music from the University of Texas at Austin, her medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical Center, and completed her residency in internal medicine at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas. She joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2016.
Her research focuses on hospice and palliative medicine with specific expertise in topical therapies for pain control and aligning goals of care with patients' cardiac defibrillator status. She has contributed to the book "Pain Management for Clinicians" and delivered numerous invited lectures on these topics.
Dr. Newcomer holds certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in hospice and palliative medicine. Her professional affiliations include:
