David Hales

David Hales, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Geriatric Medicine. He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 1994 and currently serves as Associate Chief of Staff of Geriatrics and Extended Care at the VA North Texas Health Care System in Dallas. His professional roles include membership on the Dean's Committee, Geriatric Fellowship Planning Committee, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Planning Committee at UT Southwestern.

Dr. Hales holds a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology from Delta State University (Mississippi) and a Medical Degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and is a member of the American College of Physicians.
