Rami Salib

Mr Rami Salib is an Associate Professor at the University of Southampton, specializing in clinical and biomedical research focusing on chronic inflammatory diseases, particularly chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) and nasal polyps. His work integrates microbiology, immunology, and translational medicine to address bacterial infections, biofilms, and antimicrobial resistance. He leads multiple research projects funded by organizations such as the Royal College of Surgeons and the Aair Charity.

Salib’s research explores the pathogenesis of CRS, including bacterial internalization by mast cells and the development of novel antimicrobial therapies. He has been recognized with awards such as the Royal College of Surgeons of England Hunterian Professor of Surgery (2016) and multiple Best Oral Presentation prizes (2015–2019). His interdisciplinary approach bridges clinical practice and basic science, with a focus on improving treatments for chronic infections and inflammatory conditions.
