Rafi Qamar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agronomy at the University of Sargodha, Pakistan. He earned his PhD in Resource Conservation Techniques from Agriculture University Faisalabad (2008–2013) and is affiliated with H.M.R. Javeed's Lab. His research bridges agronomy and environmental sustainability, with a focus on:
- Crop Stress Management: Developing techniques like seed priming and micronutrient applications to combat salinity, drought, and nutrient deficiencies in crops such as wheat, maize, and sugarcane.
- Sustainable Practices: Optimizing tillage systems, biochar amendments, and allelopathic weed control to enhance soil health and reduce ecological footprints.
- Biofortification: Investigating selenium, boron, and zinc to improve crop nutritional quality and yield under climate stress.
Qamar's work emphasizes field-based solutions for arid and semi-arid regions, contributing to food security in challenging environments. His publications consistently address real-world agricultural constraints, leveraging nanotechnology, microbial inoculants, and regenerative farming principles.
