Dr. Craig W. Bednarz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural Sciences at West Texas A&M University and serves as Director of the Semi-Arid Agricultural Systems Institute. He holds a joint appointment with Texas A&M AgriLife Research, contributing to both academia and applied agricultural innovation.
- Education: B.S. and M.S. in Agricultural Education and Crop Science from Texas Tech University (1989, 1991), Ph.D. in Crop Physiology from the University of Arkansas (1995)
Dr. Bednarz specializes in crop physiology and water management, with a focus on semi-arid agricultural systems. His research addresses critical challenges in sustainable agriculture, including crop water use efficiency, dryland cropping systems, conservation tillage practices, and physiological mechanisms of drought tolerance in plants.
He teaches graduate-level courses in Water Relations of Plants and Soils, Crop Physiology, and Crop Irrigation Management. Professionally, he is affiliated with the American Society of Agronomy and the Crop Science Society of America, serving as a reviewer and associate editor for prominent journals like Crop Science and Agronomy Journal.
