Dr. Josh Lofton is an Associate Professor and Extension Specialist for Cropping Systems in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences at Oklahoma State University (OSU). He holds a B.S. and M.S. from OSU, followed by a Ph.D. from Louisiana State University (LSU) in crop nutrition for sugarcane and rice. His career includes roles as a field crop agronomist with LSU AgCenter, focusing on corn, soybeans, grain sorghum, cotton, and sugarcane. At OSU since 2015, his program emphasizes developing agronomically and economically viable cropping systems in Oklahoma, including crop rotation, tillage practices, planting strategies, and harvest management. He also serves as the state canola and oilseed production specialist.
