Rachael Allen

Dr. Rachael Allen is a Lecturer in Creative Writing at Queen Mary University of London's School of English and Drama. She holds a BA from Goldsmiths University and a PhD from the University of Hull. Her work bridges poetry, environmental humanities, and interdisciplinary art, focusing on climate grief, animal studies, and feminist poetics.

Education: BA in English Literature (Goldsmiths), PhD in Literary Studies (University of Hull).

Research Interests: Ecopoetics, climate trauma, poetry-visual art collaborations, publishing practices, and intersections between class politics and environmental crises. She is completing God Complex (Faber & Faber, 2024), a long poem addressing climate grief and systemic acquiescence.

Publications include Kingdomland (Faber & Faber, 2019) and co-authored artist books with Jet Swan and Ben Sanderson. She collaborates with visual artists to create hybrid works.
