Sue Sinclair is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at the University of New Brunswick. She holds a PhD in philosophy, focusing on beauty and ethics. Her academic interests include aesthetics, ecopoetics, and the intersection of literature with philosophy. Sinclair is also a poetry editor for Brick Books and served as the inaugural critic-in-residence for CWILA (Canadian Women in the Literary Arts) in 2014.
Her creative work includes six poetry collections, such as Almost Beauty: New and Selected Poems (2022) and Heaven's Thieves (2016), which won the Pat Lowther Award. Her poetry explores themes of authenticity, mortality, and the limits of language.
Key achievements include the NB Book Award for Poetry (2022), multiple award nominations, and recognition in both Canadian and international literary circles. Her research bridges philosophical inquiry with poetic expression, emphasizing the ethical dimensions of artistic creation.
