Qingxin Peng

Qingxin Peng serves as a Lecturer in Fashion Marketing and Creative Communication at the School of Design, University of Leeds, a role she assumed in 2022 after previously holding the position of Lecturer in Creative Advertising and Brand Design. Her academic expertise centers on creating engaging consumer experiences through the integration of fashion, marketing, and digital design methodologies in both physical and virtual environments.

Dr Peng's educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design from Donghua University, China, followed by a Master of Arts in Fashion Merchandising and Doctor of Philosophy in Fashion Communication and Promotion from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her qualifications underpin her interdisciplinary approach to fashion research and education.

Her research pioneers digital visual merchandising design, identifying critical factors such as concept formation, layout design, ambient conditions, interactivity levels, and visual complexity to develop theoretical frameworks for promoting innovative textiles and fashion. Current work expands into event marketing as a branch of experiential marketing, investigating how atmospheric settings through storytelling and technology innovation create phygital experiences that strengthen brand values and consumer cognition.

As Dissertation Project Lead for Global Fashion Management, Dr Peng supervises postgraduate researcher Xiaoyu Yao. Her scholarly contributions include editorial leadership for the 2021 publication "Metallic Textile Art of Kinor Jiang" and the 2017 anthology "Self-Organisation: Junichi Arai's Textile Anthology", along with significant roles in catalogues documenting international textile design exhibitions.
